Downtown Arena Project..Going Green

As most of Toledoans now know the new arena project is well under way (well at least Demolition is). The new arena is slated to be the NATION's first GREEN ARENA!!! That is fantastic news for Toledo as it will draw many visitors to come and experience a "Green Arena" that is safe for our environment. Toledo and NW ohio in general is becoming quite the HUB for renewable energy options. A Wind farm proposed in BG, Ethanol plant in Toledo, and many other "ideas" being proposed.

Lets kick off the blog by talking about the new Westfield Shopping center plans that were released to THE BLADE...

Westfield has revised it's expansion plans. Retail experts believe some of the tenants may be a DSW Warehouse, an Old Navy, an Ulta Salon, and a restaurant, possibly one from the bd's Mongolian Grill chain. There has been an ongoing rumor that Best Buy will be relocating from Monroe/Secor to this new development area in 2008/2009. The KROGER in that same plaza has received information that they will be expanding their store (again?!) to Best Buy's current location after BBY moves out. Interesting right?

I am excited about the redevelopment of the Westfield shopping area.
